What You’ll Do:
Cemstone is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Small Business Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a strong understanding of basic accounting, bookkeeping and tax principles and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
Duties Include:

Perform all basic bookkeeping functions including cash management, invoicing, accounts payable, payroll, sales tax, registrations, governmental reporting and bank reconciliations

Prepare monthly financial reports including income statements and balance sheets

Provide necessary administrative support and upkeep of financial and other information for owners, including business, investment and personal matters

Communicate financial and other matters to small business management, owners and third parties as necessary.

Maintain organized financial records and documentation for use in third party preparation of income tax returns

Maintain multiple sets of records for individual business and owners

Analyze financial data to provide management and operational support when necessary

Assist in budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and insights

Collaborate with organization to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
Required Skills:

Understanding of QuickBooks accounting/bookkeeping software or similar packages, including setup and chart of account management

Proficient in using software including Excel, Microsoft Office and other related tools

Proficiency in general ledger reconciliation and journal entries

Strong budgeting skills with the ability to analyze financial data effectively

Basic knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Self-motivated, confident, detail-oriented and analytical
Experience/Education:
-
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, preferred

Three years’ work experience in a public accounting firm or similar practice supporting small business clients

Experience in preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns, preferred
-
Family office experience, preferred
Salary: $65,000-$85,000
