Job Description
Dakota County Technical College seeks a Part-Time Unlimited Psychology Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The college is committed to reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds among its administrators, faculty and staff.
Example of Duties:
  • Participate in department and college curriculum development.
  • Deliver instruction using a variety of methods of course instruction, including on-ground, online and/or hybrid-blended, and accelerated for a wide range of students, including traditional, developmental, adult, concurrent enrollment, and English-language learners.
  • Conduct classroom research and other assessment/evaluation activities.
  • Mentor and advise students.
  • Contribute in committee assignments and college-wide retention and quality initiatives, such as peer review of courses and an early alert system for students struggling academically.
  • Engage in department accreditation and review.
  • Engage in scholarly and other professional development activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree with a major in psychology or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in psychology.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD.
  • Experience teaching face-to-face, in hybrid format, and completely online.
  • Demonstrated participation in a wide variety of initiatives at the department, program, and college level.
  • Experience with and commitment to program-level assessment.
  • Demonstrated contribution to the diversity of the college.
  • Experience assessing student academic achievement through campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes.

Benefits Info
Salary: Dependent on credit load, salary is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023-2025 MSCF Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.

Depending on credit load, the State of Minnesota offers:
