Summary of Position

YAP, Inc. Community-Based Safety Initiatives consists of multiple programs/strategies aimed at enhancing community safety, healing, repairing and restoring communities. YAP engages community members impacted by trauma and violence and provides street outreach, mediation, structured mentoring, relentless advocacy and wraparound support. We partner with participants and families to meet their needs, reduce risk and create a pathway of hope, opportunity, and bright futures. Youth Advocate Programs (YAP), Inc. is a nationally recognized, community-based non-profit agency committed to providing alternatives to institutionalization through direct service, advocacy, and policy change. Since 1975, YAP has been a national leader in de-institutionalization. YAP is serving more than 20,000 families annually in programs across 35 states in rural and urban areas including 40 major metro areas. One hundred percent of YAP’s programming takes place in the home communities of the individuals the organization serves.

YAP is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator provider administrative support to the National Director of Community Based Safety Initiatives (CBSI), technical assistance and training for local programs, data management, implementation, and scale of the department initiatives. This position is responsible to provide direct support to all CBSI programs. The Project Coordinator should have a strong knowledge of the daily operations and management of the programs, particularly as it relates to compliance, service delivery, and communication with project partners. Above all, the Project Coordinator should keep the teams on track to meet the overall goals and strategic direction of the programs. The Project Coordinator will work hands on with the teams at all program sites to ensure teams and track with data collection and program implementation.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the National Director, including managing calendar coordinating meetings, and initiating engagement with and cultivating relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in training for all program types to gain an understanding of program operations.
  • Learning data entry systems and provide training an technical assistance for program staff.
  • Working with programs to understand ongoing services, monitor implementation by reviewing program data, and troubleshoot ongoing challenges.
  • Conduct Monthly Check-ins for qualitative data reviews with each site
  • Coordinate and track training for CBSI Sites.
  • Work with local sites to organize site visits and audits, internal and external.
  • Effectively communicating the history, goals, of YAP programs.
  • Assisting with compiling data and the timely submission of required program reports.
  • Identify and track funding opportunities

 

Annual Salary: $50,000 per year

 

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Three to five years related experiences/training in community violence interventions, youth services, juvenile justice, community programs, and program development.
  • Ability to work with a diverse staff and community and philanthropic world through being collaborative, responsive, adaptable, and flexible.
  • Extremely well organized
  • Competent in Microsoft products, including but not limited to Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel
  • Skilled in learning new software systems.
  • Experience with administrative support, technology, office systems, data management a plus.
  • Experience with Community Violence Interventions strategies is a plus.
