Maintain financial records of the Dairy & Agriculture Foundation and the College Foundation. Support daily financial operations of the College.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage accounting reporting practices and forecasting of budget as required for both foundations. Develop and implement processes for foundations’ financial reporting and analysis. Maintain financial records of Dairy & Ag and College Foundations. Supervise tasks completing daily foundation financial processes.
- Participate in Dairy & Ag Foundation Operating Committee, College Foundation Finance Committee and foundations’ board meetings as NICC financial liaison.
- Lead activities of the foundations’ annual audits. Prepare reports and compile information.
- Develop and manage internal monitoring processes to ensure compliance with financial and accounting policies and procedures and report on results to the Board of Trustees Audit Committee.
- Review and approve journal entries before posting. Analyze the general ledger for accuracy of postings and to ensure compliance with GASB and College policies.
- Conduct financial analysis on past, future and comparative data in order to develop forecast models which assist with strategic planning, budget development and reporting to outside agencies.
- Collaborate with the Director of Accounting on year-end processing and reporting.
- Assist with activities of the annual College audit.
- Assist with state and federal reporting including sales tax, targeted small business and 1099’s.
- Assist with testing and implementation of databases (Colleague, Informer, Etrieve, Bloomerang, Self Service)related to financial transactions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other related field required. CPA license and experience in a business setting preferred.
Essential FunctionsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Strong technical accounting and computer background. General ledger accounting experience/education.
Governmental accounting preferred. Strong Excel and database skills. Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the College.
