Job Description

This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

DESCRIPTION

Administers all finance, human resources and facilities and other operational activities for small to mid-sized academic or research program. Administers major academic or research program components, and some or all of the program's operational requirements. Develops and organizes academic or research conferences and other public forums. Works under direction of Principal Investigator or more senior Academic Program Officer to establish center agenda, funding, objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups to achieve results.

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with internal and external peers and managers.

  • Solid fundraising experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorate in related area and/or equivalent experience training preferred.

  • Academic background and experience in selected area of research preferred.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $85,400 - $156,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $40.90 - $75.10

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
