Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

Under general supervision, receives, stores, and distributes supplies, materials, and equipment. Ensures policies, procedures, and assignments are followed. Supervises and trains subordinate personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:
Five years related work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of the procedures and practices of issuing and storing supplies, materials, and equipment. 
  • Skill in operating warehouse material handling equipment; in providing guidance and instruction to others.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics; to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to supervise and train subordinate personnel; to operate computers and other standard office equipment; to establish and maintain effective work relationships; to perform extensive standing, walking, and climbing; to lift, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; to wear and work in personal protective equipment.

Other:
Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Additional Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.
  • Forklift Certification required. (Conducted by employer)
  • Commercial Class B or equivalent driver’s license may be required. If required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License, employees will be subject to drug and alcohol education and testing as required under Federal Highway Administration and the State of Maryland regulations.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly and manipulate up to 100lbs. with or without assistance, transport and stock assigned supplies and materials; pick-up from vendors and deliver stock and materials to customers upon request, to wear personal protective equipment. 
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb to reach materials (must be able to climb a step ladder at approximately six feet in height. 
  • Must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job.
  • Standard work hours are Mon-Fri, 7:30AM-4:00PM. This position is nonessential and not telework eligible.
