Summary of Position

Under supervision of the principal investigator and/or faculty member, this position will use nationally representative survey data to examine disability and government sponsored programs, disability and health, and disability and employment to conduct quantitative research; develop significant dissemination products and activities including reports, trainings, and publications; use statistical analyses to respond to technical assistance requests from significant partners and agencies; and contribute significantly to grant-writing efforts.

Work location for this role is at the Durham Institute on Disability (IOD) office. This position may be eligible for remote work depending on the work location; please note that arrangements are not available in every state.

Other minimum qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a social science field appropriate to research being performed and two years of experience related to area of research.
  • Advanced quantitative research experience, including use of R, Stata, and/or SAS to analyze complex national survey data sets.
  • Technical writing experience suitable for contributing to peer-reviewed journal article.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of publicly funded programs that serve persons with disabilities, including Social Security Disability Insurance, Supplemental Security Income, vocational rehabilitation, Medicaid. Medicare. and using health claims data for analysis.
