ANNOUNCEMENT: Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Chief Academic Officer.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Chief Academic Officer provides instructional oversight and leadership to the College’s Academic Divisions including: Arts and Humanities, Business, Career and Technical Education, Math and Sciences, Health Sciences, and Homeland Security. This position is responsible for providing leadership in the development and delivery of the curriculum, learning deliver methods and program development. This is a highly responsible executive level position reporting to the President of the College and serving on the President’s Cabinet. The Chief Academic Officer manages activities prescribed in the administrative, personnel, budgetary and contractual policies to assure quality instruction and student services are provided to all those enrolled in the college’s programs, disciplines, and courses. Helping students learn through the effective and efficient administration and management of the instructional division is the most significant role of the Chief Academic Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A strong record of educational achievement; an earned doctorate is preferred; a master’s degree is required.
• Experience as senior-level leader in education is required.
• Teaching and administrative experience in a community college including experience with learning outcomes assessment systems are preferred.
• Ability to plan and to direct the academic affairs including experience with strategic planning and quality improvement programs preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with institutional and/or program-level review and/or accreditation preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using emerging technology in education.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.

SALARY: Salary Grade 10 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $116,300 to $145,400 per year.

WORK LOCATION: Belleville Campus with District-Wide Responsibilities.
