EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Position availability is contingent upon grant funding.
PRIMARY DUTY: Theoretical/computational studies of photon impact ionization, time delay, and relaxation, and charge-particle impact ionization and positronium formation with atomic, fullerene and cluster systems using many-body methodologies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Calculations, including computer simulations, in various research directions, and graphical presentation and interpretation of the results.
- Undertaking activities which would require significant uninterrupted blocs of time, like upgrading the existing computer codes and developing new codes.
- Professional presentation of the research outcome in group discussions, scientific conferences and as peer-reviewed journal articles.
- Assisting in instructing and mentoring undergraduate research students involved in the group.
- Helping in formulating new research proposals.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Research activities and communications in the personal office space, discussion rooms, lecture rooms, computational labs at the NWMSU campus, and in scientific meetings/conferences and possibly collaboration visits outside the campus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assisting in instructing and mentoring undergraduate research students involved in the group.
EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Laptop, desktop computers, workstation clusters and on-campus high-performance computing facilities.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
