Job Description
The Office of Equity and Inclusion fosters a transformative, restorative, and engaging environment through culture renovation, partnerships, data-informed and evidence-based practices, (professional) learning opportunities, and community building in order to help students and employees learn about and reflect on their own and other’s identities, positionality, experiences, and outcomes for their success. Under the supervision of the Vice President of Equity and Inclusion (VPEI), this position coordinates and administers programming to grow and sustain the colleges’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts including the implementation of BRIDGES, the colleges’ DEI framework. The incumbent will provide project management, technical expertise, and guidance to ensure the colleges proactively embrace diversity, advances equity, and fosters an inclusive environment for all employees. This work will include researching best practices, facilitating discussions on contemporary DEI issues, and identifying new tools and resources to advance the efficacy, development, and growth of DEI programs and initiatives that best serve the colleges’ missions, visions, and values. As a champion for building cultural awareness and cultivating a sense of belonging, the incumbent will identify, develop, and deliver a broad spectrum of DEI learning opportunities for all employees. The position also assists with developing tools for conducting, analyzing, and reporting college-wide DEI data. Finally, the incumbent must have a willingness and commitment to a collaborative and healthy work environment.
 
This position will have responsibilities at all 3 campuses and the home campus will be the Rapids campus, with the option to telework up to two days per week, in consultation with the VPEI.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Oral and written communication skills to consult on diversity initiatives.
  • Knowledge of DEI concepts, best practices, issues, and trends.
  • Skills in designing DEI related trainings and programs.
  • Skills in project management methodology, best practices, and the ability to manage multiple projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating or managing projects focused on equity, inclusion, diversity, or affirmative action.
  • Ability to create data metrics and use data tracking tools to measure results.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in education, social sciences, organizational development, public administration, or other discipline with highly transferrable skills.
  • Two or more years of project management experience.
  • Two or more years of higher education experience.
  • Facilitation and training skills for large and small groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a resource to lead, advise, and coach on DEI.
  • Strategic planning and implementation experience.
