NWACC’s Bicycle Technician and Trails program needs a skilled, responsible, and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Bicycle Technician and Trails Trade School Lab Coordinator. In this role, the applicant will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining our bicycle technician and trails labs, as well as providing technical support to students and faculty in the lab. This position is grant-funded for five years and will serve both credit and accelerated skills training programs and students. This position is part-time and will work most closely with the Directors of Bicycle and Trail Technician Programs. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and maintain the bicycle technician and eventual trails lab, ensuring that all tools, equipment, and supplies are in good working order.
  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking and managing the inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies in the lab.
  • Provide technical support to students and faculty in the lab, including troubleshooting technical issues and assisting with equipment usage.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for lab use, including proper handling of hazardous materials and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Ensure that the lab is clean and organized at all times, and that all equipment is properly stored.
  • Assist with the implementation of lab exercises and activities for students, as well as the facilitation of lab assignments.
  • Maintain records of lab activities, including inventory, maintenance, lab tours, and student progress.
  • Attend training sessions and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on advances in bicycle technology and repair techniques.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Salary $25.00 per hour

  • Ability to be punctual and self-motivated
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to bicycle repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 9 months of experience in bicycle repair and maintenance and or trail/construction related skills and equipment.
