The Role
As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Tax Analyst who is responsible for gathering financial data from various systems, preparing calculations for both tax compliance and provision purposes, sharing information with external tax advisors and reporting to taxation authorities at federal, state, county and local levels. This position works closely with the Tax & Treasury team and will have responsibilities related to various types of tax within the US and Canada. This position will be located onsite in San Diego, C.A.A hybrid schedule is also available.
The Responsibilities
- Assists with quarterly and year-end tax provision information gathering for external preparation of provision calculations
- Prepares various calculations according to Internal Revenue Code and Treasury Regulations
- Prepares and timely files property tax reports, monthly and quarterly US state & local transaction tax reports and information reporting for payments made to vendors
- Provides state apportionment detail to external advisors for corporate income tax filings
- Responds to tax authority inquiries
- Coordinates audits by tax authorities on occasion
- Conducts research and prepare documentation regarding tax law and tax positions taken or considered
The Individual
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting
- 1-4 years related tax and accounting experience
- Strong General Ledger Accounting skills
Microsoft Excel expertise with advanced knowledge of pivots and formulas.
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Detail oriented, self-motivated and driven to problem solve.
Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Actively pursuing or already obtained Certified Public Accountant license
Experience with LN ERP preferred
Experience with Vertex preferred

- Finance Management: to share financial information.

- External auditors: to share selected financial information.
- Government employees: to respond to inquiries and share tax information
The Work Environment
- This position operates in a typical office environment. Onsite and hybrid schedules are available.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including: education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, its is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. A salary range for this position is $53,000 to $96,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
